Full time- Health Professional/Educator

The Fulton County Health Department has an opening for a full-time Health Professional/Educator. Duties include planning and organizing community health education events/outreach for the following grants: Tobacco, Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure, Firearm Safe Storage, Wisewoman, Family Planning, and Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program. The starting pay is $19.19 per hour. This full-time position includes 15 paid holidays, health, dental and vision insurance (employee pays a percentage), a generous time off package, and quarterly bonuses and gym membership reimbursement through June 2027.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of application

                     OR

 A.A. OR A.S. in the field of behavioral science, social science, or health related area with two years related experience and recommendation from the Division Director.

Strong communication, time management skills, reliable transportation and the ability to work with the public is required.

Part-time- Breast Feeding Peer Counselor

 The DHS grant requires the following qualifications:

• A woman in the community, with similar characteristic’s (i.e. age, race, cultural ethnicity, education and socioeconomic level) of WIC participants
• Professional staff, older women or women of disparate backgrounds or characteristics are not appropriate as peer counselors.
• Previous or Current WIC participation or, other women from the community with breastfeeding experience and an enthusiasm for breastfeeding may be recruited, hired and trained to be peer counselors.
• The peer counselor must have breastfed at least one baby (within the last 5 years), but does not need to currently be breastfeeding.

This will be a part-time position with flexible hours.   The starting pay is $15.66 per hour.

Part time Environmental Health Practitioner or Health Professional.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Public Health, Environmental Health, or related field with 30 semester hours in biological sciences, or 45 hours of health sciences.  An A.A. or A.S. in in appropriate field with two years of related experience and approval from Division Director will be considered.

Some Weekend hours will be required.

Must have a valid IL driver’s license with liability insurance and reliable transportation to use at all times. 

This position comes with accrued paid time and partial holiday pay.  Starting wage is $19.19 per hour.  We also offer a retention bonus and gym membership reimbursement for the 2026 and 1^st half of the 2027 Fiscal year.
